Those hats ARE truly something. I don’t have a clue on a time period for this, although I am leaning towards the 30’s. I am hoping someone in the family branches will be able to recognize this and chime in 🙂
I’ve been reading about how during the 1930s white wedding dresses were not used much because of the Great Depression. Because of the white and all the bridesmaids and the puffy sleeves, I am thinking 40s?
I’m trying to think of what period I remember seeing those headpieces from. 1400s? Early 1500s? 1600s? Not Elizabeth I’s period, I don’t think. OR, because we only see the front view and not the side, are they BoPeep bonnets?
Hi Luanne- I think you might be quite right with the later date. I definitely see little bo peep too now 🙂 My mother married in the late 40’s and looking at the picture again, she wore a similar head piece that her vail was attached to. Thanks for the idea’s Luanne 🙂

Those hats are something! Any idea when this was taken? The hats and the high puffy shoulders must have been a fashion trend of that time.
